Settle a Few Marital Disputes

These disagreements have come up recently in our home. Please settle the score.

1) I get back from a six-mile run and am sweaty and stinky. But as I have to get to the church almost immediately to help clean it and therefore have no time to shower (plus, I'll want to shower when I'm done cleaning), will deodorant help me or is it pointless?

2) Everyone knows that Christmas lights should be taken down by January 7th, or earlier. But what about this banner? Give me the drop-dead date for its showing.

3) Which pant color is better for a man, (a) or (b)?

  1. I hope my singleton status doesn't disqualify me, but here goes:
    1) Every bit helps, so go with deodorant. (Or go old-school P.E. "shower" and splash water on your armpits.)
    2) The day after Labor Day.
    3) Tough call, but my gut reaction is a.

  2. 1) deo will be helpful, but borrow a couple baby wipes from Rhett and do a quick wipe down
    2) year round, patriotism is not seasonal
    3) each has it's place and both are appropriate for a man. I would consider a) a casual work pant or evening out pant. b) I would consider for a beach wedding, dressier but not overly dressy.

  3. 1 - deodorant is a lost cause at that point
    2 - a week ago
    3 - A. Never B.

  5. 1. deoderant is probably pointless but you can always try!
    2. Yep, through the month. We just did a primary parade last night and decorated bikes with red, white and blue.
    3. a for sure!

Oh and I must tell you that I am more excited about the quiet book than I was. I have my idea all worked out pretty much and it's coming together! Can't wait to see them all finished!

  6. 1. I reapply deodorantat least 3 times a day, so I would for ssure do it after a work out.
    2. I loved Amanda's comment about being year round patriotic, but I would use August 1st at the date to take them down. What I want to know is, when should you start putting up 4th of July decor?
    3. Andrew owns both colors. I think (a) is more of a "manly" color, but is also more casual. Andrew uses option (b) for church, usually with a sports coat. (He also has a pink polo shirt, so he might not be the best gauge).

  7. Deoderant (at minimum). I have an overly sensitive nose and would have taken a quick shower--no hair wash. I hate the body stinky smell.

I agree the banner should be down by now. A flag is timeless, but the banner was clearly meant for the holiday (don't hate me).

    A. For the pants. The lighter ones scream little boy to me. I don't even love it when Evan wears them to church anymore. But I am not fashion savvy, so who knows?!
