Help Please

Let's suppose you're the Young Women's president in your ward. Let's then suppose that you want to create a little booklet for the graduating seniors in your ward. What would you put in it?

Or, remember back to when you graduated from high school and went to college. What did you wish you knew? What information did you wish you had access to?

You probably correctly surmised that I'd like to put together some things for my graduating seniors (all three of them!). Some things my board already brainstormed are: easy recipes, laundry tips, ideas of free activities, notes from fellow young women in the ward. What can you suggest we add? Many thanks!

  2. financial information, what credit is and how it works, how to save money in cd's that sort of thing. i'm being totally serious! perhaps not so appropriate from the yw pres but really, i wish i had known that stuff at that age rather than figuring it out on my own.

  4. money is always a problem as a college student so think of ways they spend money on things they don't typically purchase...food being a big one. They'll soon be purchasing all their own food so a shopping guide may be a good idea...how to save money (make it yourself rather than buying prepackaged, look for coupons, look for stores that take double coupons on Monday or whatever day of the week it may be). Coupon ideas such as restaurant.com. If you plan ahead, you can have a lovely meal and still save money!

Another thing most college girls experience when they move in to a dorm is the freshman 15, 15lbs that is. Maybe a quick guide of how to safely diet and the importance of exercise.

Stress management tips...suggest things like group pedicures or manicures. This encourages stress relief, girl bonding, group therapy and cheap personal management :)

  5. Adding to Amanda's shopping list idea ... Perhaps a list of what's a good, average price for groceries? When I first started grocery shopping, I had no idea what things like chicken, beef and veggies should cost. Needless to say, I overpaid a lot those first few trips!
